Before you get too excited, it is important to know that capsaicin can be just as dangerous as it is healthy. This week, we want to point out a few pieces of information that you should know about capsaicin. We’re here to educate!
#1: Capsaicin is an active component of chili peppers, which makes it more of an irritant than a healer. It is used to produce a burning sensation. Too much of this can irritate a condition further! It is important to always use a low dose. NOTE: Aidance products only incorporate a tiny amount of this ingredient, as it can cause a burning sensation in large doses, and carefully blend it with soothing moisturizers.
#2: Capsaicin is known to temporarily relieve pain on the skin’s surface by blocking the sensation of substance P, a chemical that carries pain messages to the brain.
#3: Capsaicin has been known to relieve the pain of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, muscle pain, joint pain, and more.
#4: Capsaicin must be handled and used carefully, as it can cause burning to areas that you do not intend it to. For example, keep it away from your eyes and other sensitive areas of your body.
#5: Capsaicin is not for everyone. It is important to speak with a medical professional before you use capsaicin on your condition.
